The 2025 Annual Update of the Common Manual has been published and is ready to view on the website. Just click on the Common Manual tab in the menu on the upper left of this screen to view the current version.

First published in December 1995, the Common Manual is a cooperative effort of the nation’s guarantors that currently participate in the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP). The Common Manual is an indispensable resource for participants in the FFELP program and contains up-to-date federal student loan information. The manual is one of many efforts by guarantors to simplify and streamline the federal rules and regulations for the FFELP program, and provides a single, standardized policy guidance for schools and lenders.

The Common Manual continues to be an indispensable resource that contains up-to-date federal student loan information for the FFELP community that is available right here at your fingertips.
